Top Prospect Shawne Williams scored 32 points, including seven 3-pointers, but the D-Fenders fell short 124-111 to the Bakersfield Jam on Monday. Brandon Costner had 19 points and C.J. Williams added 18.
The D-Fenders led 98-94 after the third quarter, but were outscored 30-13 in the final frame. After converting 54.1 percent of their field goals and 41.4 percent on three-pointers through three quarters, L.A. made just 4 of 25 shots (16.0 percent), including 1 of 13 from beyond the arc (7.7 percent) in the fourth.
PLAYER OF THE GAME
Mac Koshwal. The 6-foot-10 forward scored just nine points and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench, but came up big in the fourth-quarter minutes with five points and seven boards. With the game tied at 103 with 8:25 left, Koshwal split a pair of free throws, and had two driving layups during a 9-1 run to put some separation from Bakersfield and L.A. down the stretch.
PROSPECT PERFORMANCE WATCH
No. 6 prospect, Shawne Williams, recorded 32 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three blocks. He made his first nine field goals, including six three-pointers, before missing his first shot with 6:59 in the third quarter. Overall, Williams shot 11 for 19 from the floor and 7 for 11 on three-pointers.

The D-Fenders struggled from the floor in the fourth, scoring just 13 points, the lowest point total in any quarter this season.
WHERE THEY STAND
The D-Fenders played their seventh game in 11 days, falling to the Bakersfield Jam 124-111. Despite the loss, Los Angeles (27-17) remains in first place in the West Division, one-and-a-half games ahead of idle Santa Cruz (26-19) and two-and-a-half games ahead of idle Reno (25-20).
