D-Fenders vs. Armor Postgame Report 02/24/14

The D-Fenders started slowly on Monday, but No. 2 prospect Manny Harris warmed up to score 30 points in a 134-128 win over the visiting Armor. Harris had help as No. 5 prospect Terrence Williams scored 23 points, and Brandon Costner added 22 off the bench.
Tied at 123 with 2:26 left, the D-Fenders closed the game on an 11-5 run. Springfield went 1 for 8 the rest of the way, while L.A. converted on 4 of 5 shots to cap its five-game home stand with a win.
PLAYER OF THE GAME
Manny Harris. In his return from a two-game absence, Harris scored a game-high 30 points (20 in the second half), to go along with nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. He shot just 9 of 26 from the floor, but converted on 12 of his 14 free throws.

Brandon Costner and Travis Hyman. Costner poured in 22 points off the bench, to go along with six rebounds, on 5 of 8 field goals (3 of 3 on three-pointers) and 9 of 10 free throws. Hyman recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds (six offensive) and three blocked shots in 22 minutes.

PROSPECT PERFORMANCE WATCH
No. 5 prospect, Terrence Williams, registered 23 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. He also hit a key three-pointer with 54.8 seconds left that pushed L.A.’s lead from 125-124 to 128-124.
STAT OF THE GAME
In another close game, the D-Fenders made 32 of 38 free throws (84.2 percent), two nights after missing 4 of 7 in overtime in a 129-128 loss vs. Idaho.
