D-Fenders at Skyforce Postgame Report 12/27/13

Manny Harris scored 31 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out seven assists, but the D-Fenders fell 114-106 to the host Skyforce. C.J. Williams added 21 points and Josh Magette recorded 10 assists, but the D-Fenders lost despite holding a slim margin entering the final period.
Tied at 97 with 8:03 remaining, Sioux Falls reeled off nine straight points to take a 106-97 lead. The D-Fenders were held without a field goal for almost five minutes, but still cut the deficit to four points on two separate occasions – at 106-102 and 108-104 – down the stretch, but the Skyforce held on to win their 10th game of the season.
D-FENDERS STANDOUT PERFORMER
Manny Harris. The Michigan product recorded a game high 31 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals. The No. 8 overall prospect on the NBA D-League Watch Board is now averaging 27.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.6 steals in five games with the D-Fenders this season.
PLAYER OF THE GAME
Justin Hamilton. The 7-footer recorded his sixth double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and also anchored Sioux Falls’ defense in the middle with six blocks.
DeAndre Liggins. The Kentucky product capped Sioux Falls' key 9-0 run midway through the fourth with his third three-pointer of the game and scored 13 of his team high 24 points after halftime.
STAT OF THE GAME
Sioux Falls owned a plus-25 advantage (59-34) in the rebounding department, including a plus-13 edge (22-9) on the offensive end. As such, the Skyforce had 32 second-chance points compared to just six for the D-Fenders. The home team controlled both sides of the glass all game long, particularly in the fourth, when they outrebounded the D-Fenders 20-4.
