D-Fenders Waive Danny Jones and Muhammad El-Amin
EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles D-Fenders have waived forward Danny Jones and guard Muhammad El-Amin, it was announced today by General Manager Nick Mazzella.
Jones, a 6’7” forward, played collegiately at Biola University, earning NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors in 2008. A veteran of the Carlsbad BeachDawgs, of the WCBL, Jones was invited to training camp after competing in a local tryout last month.
El-Amin was the D-Fenders fourth round selection in this year’s NBA D-League Draft. The Stony Brook University alumnus has spent the past three years playing internationally in Hungary, Italy and Israel. He averaged 16.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in his two seasons at Stony Brook en route to earning All-AEC Player of the Year in 2010.
The D-Fenders training camp roster currently stands at 12 players.
