D-FENDERS DROP GAME TWO OF THE NBA D-LEAGUE FINALS
EL SEGUNDO, CA – The Los Angeles D-Fenders fell to the Austin Toros 113-94 in Game Two of the NBA Development League Finals presented by BBVA at Toyota Sports Center. The loss is the D-Fenders first of the 2012 playoffs and only their fifth loss at home this season.
Malcolm Thomas finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the NBA D-League Finals, Orien Greene totaled 17 points and eight rebounds, and Elijah Millsap tallied 14 points along with five rebounds for the D-Fenders (1-1). Additionally, Gary Flowers scored 11 points (4-6 FG) off the bench on Thursday night.
Millsap finished with a game-high 33 points (8-17 FG), including an NBA D-League Finals record 15 free throws made, and 10 rebounds while Malcom Thomas scored 21 points and pulled down an NBA D-League Finals record 25 rebounds. In total, the D-Fenders pulled down 62 rebounds on the night, the second most rebounds in postseason history.
Austin (1-1) was paced by Julian Wright (26 points, 11 rebounds), Justin Dentmon (26 points, 5 assists), and Terrance Woodbury (17 points, 4 steals). Meanwhile, Flip Murray pitched in 16 points and Brad Wanamaker added 15 points to go with five rebounds and four steals in the win.
