EL SEGUNDO – Elijah Millsap was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played April 2-7, it was announced today. The honor is the first of Millsap’s career and the third D-Fender to receive Performer of the Week honors this season.

Millsap, a 6-6, 215-pound guard out of Alabama-Birmingham, helped the D-Fenders post a 3-0 record and etch their names into the record books as the team finished the 2011-12 regular season with a 38-12 record, the best in NBA D-League history. During the week, Millsap averaged 22.3 points (42 FG%, 56 3FG%), 11.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Additionally, the guard began the week with a season-high 32 points on April 4 in a 111-98 win over the Reno Bighorns, before finishing with two double-doubles to end the regular season on April 6 and 7.

In 41 games (33 starts) for the D-Fenders this season, Millsap averaged 19.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.9 steals in 33.0 minutes. The 2012 NBA D-League All-Star has scored in double-figures 38 times, recorded five double-doubles and two triple-doubles.
