FORT WAYNE, IN – The Los Angeles D-Fenders closed out a four-game road trip and 2011 with a 104-97 overtime victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Friday night. Courtney Fortson, who notched six of the D-Fenders 11 points in overtime, all but sealed the win after dropping in a layup with 13.5 seconds left to give Los Angeles (10-6) a seven point lead.

Starting his second game of the season, Fortson led his team with a season-high 30 points (12-13 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. Gerald Green finished with 24 points (6-11 3FG) and seven rebounds, Malcolm Thomas tallied 17 points (7-13 FG), nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals, and Mardy Collins, who hit a late-game jumper to send the teams into overtime, added 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench in the win.

The Mad Ants (4-8) were paced by Darnell Lazare, who posted a double-double (27 points, 10 rebounds), along with Ron Howard, who scored 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting. Chris Hunter finished with 16 points and eight rebounds, Cameron Jones chipped in 13 points, and Walker Russell handed out 11 assists for Fort Wayne.

The D-Fenders, who shot a scintillating 95.8 percent from the free throw line (23-24 FT) as well as 40.7 percent from three-point range (11-27 3FG), finish the month of December with an 8-4 record.

Los Angeles next plays at home against Bakersfield on January 4 with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are still available and the game can be seen online on NBA Futurecast.
