ENERGY SIGN FORMER NBA 1ST ROUND PICK JOSH BOONE

DES MOINES, IA (Jan. 17, 2013) – The Iowa Energy today announced the signing of former NBA 1st Round Draft Pick Josh Boone. Boone, a 6’10” forward/center, played four seasons with the New Jersey Nets where he averaged 5.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 256 NBA games.

Boone was a 1st round Pick (23rd overall) of the Nets (now Brooklyn Nets) in the 2006 NBA Draft after playing collegiately at UCONN. He spent the last two seasons playing in the Chinese Basketball Association. Boone is expected to be in the Energy’s lineup this weekend for a pair of games at Maine.

The Energy return home next week for two home games. Tuesday, January 22nd is 2-for-1 Tuesday vs. the Tulsa 66ers, featuring $10 sideline tickets. And Friday, January 25th vs. the Canton Charge is $1 Hot Dog Night, featuring ACRODUNK at halftime, presented by MidAmerican Energy. Both games tip at 7 PM.
