Idaho to play 7 of first 9 games at home

BOISE, Idaho, August 29, 2011 – The NBA Development League has released the full 2011-12 schedules for each of its 16 teams, with the Idaho Stampede beginning its sixth season in the NBA’s official minor league and 14th overall.

Idaho will play seven of its first nine games and six of its final nine at home at the newly named CenturyLink Arena in downtown Boise. The season will begin Friday, November 25 with a home game against the Tulsa 66ers and end on Saturday, April 7 with a home matchup against the Bakersfield Jam.

Key Games:

- The Los Angeles D-Fenders, off of a one-year hiatus, will visit Boise for four games.

- The Stampede will have two games against the still-unnamed team from Canton, Ohio – the New Mexico Thunderbirds organization was bought by the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and moved to the Ohio city earlier this summer.

- Rio Grande Valley, the league’s champion two seasons ago and runner up last year, will come to Boise for a two-game set in February.

- The Texas Legends, who tied the Stampede for eighth in last year’s standings but advanced to the playoffs due to a tie-breaker, come to Boise for two games in March.

Idaho will play eight games against both Los Angeles and Reno, with another seven against Bakersfield. The Stampede will have played the Jam 19 times in three seasons, including a stretch of five straight home games against them last year. Idaho is 4-8 in their previous 12 battles with Bakersfield.

The Stampede, along with each of the other 15 teams, will play 24 true home games in a 50 game schedule, along with 24 true road games. Each team will play two games at the D-League Showcase, which takes place Jan. 9-12; the Showcase schedule and location has yet to be released.
