Team Mounts Incredible Comeback
Walker brings Idaho to the brink
The Idaho Stampede started off the season 0-7 and 2-13, but a handful of signings, trades and some veteran presence brought the team back with a 22-13 finish and a tie for the last playoff spot on the final day of the season - they didn't make the playoffs due to a tie-breaker, but the season was one of the most notable in franchise history. The team finished 24-26 in Head Coach Randy Livingston's first season, and the team featured two assigned players from the team's affiliate, the Portland Trail Blazers, in Luke Babbitt and Armon Johnson. |

Factoids 75.0 - The Stampede grabbed 75.0 percent of all available defensive rebounds, which was best in the league for the 2010-11 season. 4 - The Idaho Stampede had 4 streaks of 3 wins in a row during the 2010-11 season - a huge fact that brought them back after a 2-13 start. 144 - The Idaho Stampede scored an amazing 144 points against the Iowa Energy on March 6 in Des Moines. Iowa would finish the year as the league champs. 10/10/10 - Point guard Cedric Jackson had 3 games of at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists (commonly called a triple-double) on the season. Jackson finished the season second in assists per game at 7.3 helpers per game.

Quotes “I just feel like anytime you have a chance to have another year at something, you’re a year smarter. You’re a year more experienced, you understand your team a little bit better." - Randy Livingston, already looking forward to 2011-12. “I want to just play basketball. I haven’t had a chance to play in a year and a half. I still believe I can play at a very high level and help some team out. I really, really want to give myself a full opportunity." - Antoine Walker, just after signing with the Idaho Stampede. "It's fun to get some minutes. It's fun to be playing in games, competitive games. There are good teams down here in the D-League. No disrespect around here." - Armon Johnson, after he was assigned to the Stampede from the Portland Trail Blazers |
