Careers A brief description of the company:

The Boise Customer Care Center (CCC) began operations in December 1996 servicing TeleCommunications, Inc. (TCI) cable customers. In early 1997, the Center outsourced its services to PRIMESTAR, Inc., a medium-power satellite service. DIRECTV acquired PRIMESTAR, and the Boise CCC from TCI, in June 1999.

The Boise CCC is a 155,000 square foot facility, with a design based upon innovative, best-in-class call-center designs from across the United States. Our call center is one of six DIRECTV-owned-and-operated call centers located across the U.S. Together, with more than 20 outsourced call centers, we support millions of customer calls each month. Today, the DIRECTV Boise CCC is one of the top 10 largest employers in the state of Idaho. We handle inbound calls from DIRECTV’s residential customers. We serve two primary call types – Advancing the Customer Experience (ACE) and Customer Retention Group (CRG) – as well as the DIRECTV Office of the President (OOP), which performs functions for a variety of complex customer issues requiring research or special handling.

1. Advancing the Customer Experience (ACE)

2. ACE works with customers to handle their requests to add programming, upgrade equipment to advanced receivers that give them access to DIRECTV’s industry-leading technology and services, and bundle their DIRECTV service with phone and/or Internet from one of our telco partners.

3. Customer Retention Group (CRG)

4. CRG works with customers who have indicated a desire to disconnect our service. The Boise CCC currently leads DIRECTV’s retention efforts. This is significant because of the large cost involved in acquiring each new customer.

5. The mission of CRG is to retain customers and build loyalty. CRG customer service representatives (CSRs_ work to retain customers by customizing save tools and offers, based upon certain customer criteria. Regardless of whether the CSR “saves” the customer, it is their job to make the customer feel valued and to welcome them back to DIRECTV.
