‘BE TRUE TO YOUR SCHOOL’ PROGRAM TO REWARD AREA COACHES
Commercial Tire, Stampede, Steelheads team up for second year

BOISE, Idaho, August 8, 2011 – The Commercial Tire “Be True to Your School” program will return this fall for a second season with the Idaho Stampede and Idaho Steelheads hockey team. The program, run in conjunction with Cooper Tires, gives high schools in the Treasure Valley an opportunity to win $1,000 for their athletics departments by nominating a deserving coach.

In all, $20,000 will be donated to area high schools through the program.

Students, administrators and fans can log onto the “Be True to Your School” Facebook page to nominate a coach for consideration. A winner is selected every two weeks and the winner will then be invited to either an Idaho Stampede game or an Idaho Steelheads hockey game to collect the one-thousand dollar check for the school’s athletics department.

Last year’s winners came from area high schools and towns, ranging from McCall to Melba to Glenns Ferry and Weiser. All sizes of schools were awarded and several sports saw their coaches recognized by the program, including basketball, baseball, volleyball, football and track and field.

The program will run from Aug. 28 to May 28. Any coaches who are selected after the conclusion of the Stampede’s and Steelhead’s season will be presented with a check at the school.
