BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 6, 2007 Stampede point guard Randy Livingston and center Peter Ramos are two of the players selected in the Western Division to take part in the inaugural Gillette D-League All-Star game in association with 24 Hour Fitness, which will be hosted in Las Vegas, NV in conjunction with NBA All-Star weekend.
I am very proud of both of them, they gave up their individual stats for the team. I am proud of them for setting a plan for their future and sticking with it, said Stampede head coach Bryan Gates. Its nice when your team gets recognized for positive things, and its a reflection of the team as well as Randy and Peter.
Before Tuesday mornings game against Tulsa, the 64 Livingston averaged 10.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and a league-leading 9.8 assists per game in nearly 38 minutes per contest. Ramos, standing at 73, has averaged 13.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
The All-Star game will be held on Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The game will tip off at 4 p.m. CT and will be televised live on NBA TV.
The two 10-man rosters were selected by a combination of fan balloting on D-LEAGUE.com and voting of the leagues 12 head coaches. Prior to the game, East head coach Sidney Moncrief (Fort Worth) and West head coach Joe Wolf (Colorado) will choose starting lineups for their respective teams.
