BOISE, Idaho, January 5, 2009 - The Golden State Warriors announced today the acquisition of Idaho Stampede forward Jermareo Davidson for a ten day contract with the NBA team.
Davidson was the Stampede’s first pick in the 2008-09 NBA Development League Draft. The 6-10 forward from The University of Alabama has averaged 16.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game in 15 games. He leads the league in double-doubles this season with 10 in 15 games.
“I am thrilled for Jermareo,” said Stampede Head Coach Bryan Gates. “He really has worked hard this season and his numbers show that. This is what the NBA Development League is all about.”
This is the Stampede’s first NBA call-up this season. Davidson travels to Utah with the Warriors for their game tonight against the Jazz.
The Idaho Stampede are also in Utah for the 2009 NBA Development League Showcase. They play the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Tuesday at 11:00 am MST.
