Year Two...now what?
Idaho makes playoffs a regular feat for young franchise

"We got game" was not just a slogan for this young franchise. A new head coach in the accomplished Russ Bergman, along with the success in their inaugural year, brought about excitement and anticipation throughout the valley. Idaho made the playoffs for the second straight year, though losing in the first round in their chase for the elusive championship. Winning, along with family fun, was becoming the norm in the Treasure Valley.

Quotes
"The (Stampede) gave me the opportunity to show NBA personnel that I can play at that level. Without the (Stampede), I don't think I'd be where I am today," said former Stampede guard Damon Jones.

"Stampede home games have the air of a carnival. Throughout its match-up wtih Sioux Falls, rock music blares from the speaker system. Mountain bikers soar and twist in an acrobatic halftime routine. During a timeout, two fans try to win a recliner from a local furniture store-a sponsor-by sinking a foul shot while lying in the chair. They fail. At halftime, another fan takes a series of four shots in an unsuccessful attempt to win a Dodge truck," Wall Street Journal, 4/19/99.
