Forward Sam Clancy came to Idaho looking for his opportunity to play in the NBA, and he certainly showed his skills throughout the year. He finished the season averaging 19.1 ppg and 10.8 rpg, while coasting to the league MVP award, First Team All-League selection, league Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Star Game selection. While he didn't earn an NBA call-up, two other players on Idaho's squad did. The Stampede finished with a 23-25 record, and narrowly missed a playoff berth.
