Everyone is invited as Idaho picks ten players November 7
Boise, Idaho, October 28, 2008 – Your Idaho Stampede are inviting fans to their NBA Development League Draft Party on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Legends Sports Pub & Grill, located at 7609 Overland Road at the Edwards Cinema Plaza in Boise. The festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the draft will commence at 5 p.m. Live coverage of the 2008 NBA D-League Draft will begin at 5 p.m. MST on NBATV.
There is no cost to attend and parking is free. Space is limited so the Stampede encourage fans to arrive early. Food and drink specials will be offered from Legends as well as an extended Happy Hour from 3 – 7 p.m.
Fans will be joined by the Stampede’s mascot AAA Rumble, Spirit dance team, Stampede front office and coaching staff, as well as some special guests.
Stampede fans will have the opportunity to pick up their season ticket packets at the party. If fans are unable to make the Draft Party on Friday, they are encouraged to pick their packets up the next week Monday, 10th – Wednesday, 12th from 9 a.m. -7 p.m. at the Stampede front office, which is located within the Grove Hotel at 233 S. The draft will be conducted live via teleconference, on location at Legends, and fans will have an up-close view of the “WAR ROOM” as Stampede Head Coach Bryan Gates, Associate Head Coach Randy Livingston, and Assistant Coach Joel Abelson work to make their selections on draft night. The draft will also be live on Sirius Satellite radio and streamed live on NBADLEAGUE.com.
The Stampede are slated to pick third in the first round of the draft. The Tulsa 66ers secured the first overall pick, followed by the Colorado 14ers, Idaho Stampede, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Bakersfield Jam, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Erie BayHawks, Anaheim Arsenal, Utah Flash, Reno Bighorns, Dakota Wizards, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Los Angeles Defenders, Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Iowa Energy, and the Austin Toros.
Training camp rosters will consist of ten (10) players selected by each team in the 2008 D-League Player Draft, and any combination of 6-7 of players who: (i) qualify as returning players for a respective returning team, or were selected by the team in the 2008 D-League Expansion Draft for a respective expansion team; (ii) qualify as allocation players for the respective team, or (iii) are successful local player tryout participants for the respective team. Each team will select 6-7 of them for training camp (exact number at team’s discretion).
