BOISE, Idaho (April 9, 2008) – The Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League have announced today the addition of guard Dwuan Rice and forward Anthony Washington to their roster. Rice and Washington will make their Stampede debuts on Friday, April 11th in Boise, when the Stampede will face the Bakersfield Jam.
Rice, a rookie out of Cal State-Bakersfield, played in the ABA for the Vermont Frost Heaves for the 2007-08 season. He helped the Frost Heaves win their second consecutive ABA championship and was named the MVP of the ABA Finals after contributing 18 points, six assists, and four rebounds in the final game. Rice averaged 8.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 21 minutes per game for Vermont.
Washington was named CBA Rookie of the Year with the Yakama Sun Kings. In 38 games, he averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18 minutes per game. The 6-10 Washington started his career at the University of Washington before transferring to Portland State.
The playoff bound Stampede finish out their regular season with home games on Friday and Saturday versus Bakersfield and Iowa.
