Stampede Mascot selected as one of three Grand Marshal’s

BOISE, IDAHO (June 30, 2006) – It’s not quite basketball season, but AAA Rumble will be out in full force, entertaining kids and fans during the “We the People” Fourth of July parade in downtown Boise.

AAA Rumble was one of three community service leaders selected for the honor, recognizing those who make Boise and the Treasure Valley a wonderful place to live. The other two honorees are Idaho National guard Lt. Col. Gordon Petrie and former Olympic skier Dane Spencer.

AAA Rumble will represent the team, as well as the Idaho Stampede Community Foundation during the parade. The Idaho Stampede Community Foundation was established to enrich the lives of the youth and families of the Treasure Valley through community outreach efforts. The Stampede family, from players and coaches to the dance team and front office, are dedicated to making a difference in our community. Through programs we initiate, administer and support through the Idaho Stampede Community Foundation, our organization aspires to uphold a bond with the local community while contributing to its development and progress.

Members of the Stampede front office and Stampede Spirit Dance Team will also participate in the parade, which will start at 6:30 p.m. following a Blackhawk helicopter flyover.

The Idaho Stampede will begin its ninth season-of-play in November at Qwest Arena as a member of the NBA Development League. The Stampede are the affiliate of the Utah Jazz and Seattle Supersonics.
