BOISE, Idaho, March 5, 2009 – On Friday, April 10, 2008, at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho, the Stampede and Bank of the Cascades will present a check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho. The check presentation will take place at halftime, as the Idaho Stampede take on the Bakersfield Jam.

This year, three-year-old Sophia, who resides in Meridian with her family, will have her wish come true. As a typical girl, Sophia enjoys dancing and singing like her idol Hannah Montana. However, unlike most three-year-old girls, Sophia is battling leukemia. Sophia’s one true wish is to go to Disneyland. While at Disneyland, Sophia plans to spend time with her favorite Disney character, Mickey Mouse! Sophia and her family are excited to visit the “Happiest Place on Earth!”

“We’re privileged once again to partner with the Idaho Stampede to help the Make a Wish Foundation of Idaho make a dream come true for a child with a life-threatening illness,” said Mike Mooney, president, Idaho region, Bank of the Cascades.

This is the second season the Stampede and Bank of the Cascades have teamed up to grant a wish. Throughout the 2007-08 and 2008-09 Stampede seasons, the Idaho Stampede have partnered with Bank of the Cascades and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho to put together ‘Swishes for Wishes’. For every three-point basket made during the 2008-09 Idaho Stampede season, Bank of the Cascades donated ten dollars to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho. Bank of the Cascades has 12 branches in the Boise/Treasure Valley area, located in Boise, Eagle, Garden City, Kuna, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell and Fruitland.
