BOISE, Idaho, December 4, 2008– The Idaho Stampede announce the acquisition of guard Luke Jackson. Jackson played in 19 games for the Stampede last season including the D-League Championship. Most recently, Jackson was a member of the Portland Trail Blazers this summer but was released to cut down to the 15 man roster.
Last season, Jackson averaged 13.3 points per game, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists for the Stampede.
This will be Jackson’s third season with the Idaho Stampede. During his tenure, he has been called up to the NBA three times. During the 2006-07 season he was signed by the Los Angeles Clippers and the Toronto Raptors. Last season he started the season with the Raptors, was sent to the Stampede and was then called up to the Miami Heat.
To make room for Jackson on the Stampede’s ten man roster the Stampede announce the release of Anthony Coleman from Long Beach State.
Jackson joins the team today as they travel to Austin to take on the Toros this Friday night.
