BOISE, Idaho, August 30, 2012 – The NBA Development League has released the full game schedule for the 2012-13 season, the 15th year of basketball for the Idaho Stampede, seventh in the D-League, and first as the single-affiliate hybrid partner of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers.
The Stampede will play its first four games on the road, including the first game of the season against the Los Angeles D-Fenders on November 28. The team plays its first home game on December 7 against the 2011-12 NBA Development League Champion Austin Toros at CenturyLink Arena in downtown Boise. In memory of the Attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the team’s home opener will be a military appreciation theme night to honor Idaho’s military with special tickets available to help raise funds for local active and veteran military members and their families.
Idaho will play 17 games at home on either Friday or Saturday nights, with another game coming at home on Sunday, February 10 at 3:30 p.m. against the Golden State Warriors’ NBA D-League team; all other home games start at 7 p.m. (MST).
The season will end with a back-to-back home set against the D-Fenders on April 5 and 6 at CenturyLink Arena.
Other Key Games:
- The Stampede play 34 games against just five opponents, including eight games against the Warriors’ NBA D-League Team and Los Angeles, seven against Reno, six against Austin and five versus Bakersfield.
- The Stampede will visit Sioux Falls for one game (March 5) against former assistant coach/Associate Head Coach Joel Abelson, now the head coach of the Skyforce. Former Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon will bring his Springfield Armor team to Boise for two games on February 20-21.
- Idaho will face the Maine Red Claws on December 26 at CenturyLink Arena.
- The Stampede will play eight games in 14 days against seven different teams on the road from February 24-March 9.
Each of the 16 teams in the D-League play 24 true home games and 24 true road games, with two games scheduled during the NBA Development League Showcase, January 7-10 in Reno. The Showcase games have not been scheduled yet.
