Idaho’s premier dance team seeks new members
August 17-18

The Idaho Stampede professional basketball franchise in the NBA Development League, have announced that auditions for the Stampede Spirit dance team, presented by Studio C will be held on Friday and Saturday, August 17-18.

Registration and sign-in will take place between 5-6 p.m. on Friday at a location to be determined in the near future, immediately followed by auditions. No cuts will be made following Friday’s audition. Saturday’s session will consist of the dancers performing the routine learned the prior evening before a panel of judges, and will be evaluated on dance technique, showmanship, appearance, and physical fitness.

Potential candidates must be at least 18-years-old and be a high school graduate. In addition to a physical and personal appearance evaluation, candidates will be judged on their ability to grasp choreographed dance routines, maintain a positive attitude and communicate effectively.

The Stampede Spirit are Idaho’s premier dance team, having performed during the 2006-07 season not only during all Stampede home games, but throughout the country, including a Utah Jazz preseason game and during the 2007 NBA D-League All-Star game in Las Vegas.

Jennifer Huter will direct the Stampede Spirit for a second season. The Stampede Spirit will perform high-energy, fast-paced routines, provide in-house game entertainment, as well as act as ambassadors in and around the community. The Stampede Spirit will continue to make appearances throughout the year for private, civic and charitable events on behalf of the Stampede.
