Rice, Jr. joins Mike Taylor (55th overall, 2008), Latavious Williams (48th overall, 2009) and Chukwudiebere Maduabum (54th overall, 2011) as players with NBA D-League experience to be selected in an NBA Draft.

Twenty-six members of the 2012 NBA Draft class honed their skills in the NBA D-League during the 2012-13 NBA season, while an all-time high 30 percent of players boasted NBA D-League experience. Additionally, an all-time high 76 players on postseason NBA rosters had spent time in the NBA D-League during their careers, including 2013 NBA Champions Chris Andersen, Joel Anthony and Jarvis Varnado of the Miami Heat.
