TULSA FALLS IN DOUBLE OVERTIME

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Tulsa 66ers fell to the Iowa Energy, 118-112, in double overtime on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

Six Tulsa players scored in double figures, led by Rasual Butler with 30 points, nine rebounds and two assists. The NBA veteran has combined for 62 points in Tulsa’s two games this week.

Andy Rautins went 5-for-9 from 3-point range en route to 19 points, six assists and four rebounds. Tony Taylor scored 17 points while dishing out six assists and Dominique Sutton picked up a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. Rodney Bartholomew and Mario Little each scored 10 points off the bench.

Iowa pulled to within three to make it 102-99 with 38 seconds to play in regulation. Tulsa missed a bucket on the next possession, but Butler came up from behind and stole the ball from Iowa with 17 seconds on the clock. Butler was immediately fouled and sunk both free throws to put Tulsa up 104-99.

After Iowa’s Ben Strongs made an immediate jumper, the Energy took advantage of a lost ball turnover and drained a deep 3-pointer by Chris Wright at the seven second mark to send the game into overtime.

After both teams scored three points in the first overtime period, Iowa outscored Tulsa 11-3 in the second overtime frame.

The 66ers (26-23) distributed 28 assists and outrebounded Iowa 49-48.

The Energy (13-36) was led by Othyus Jeffers with 27 points and 12 rebounds.
