D-FENDERS BESTED BY JAM

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Los Angeles D-Fenders were bested by the Bakersfield Jam on Saturday night, dropping a 115-103 contest at Dignity Health Event Center.

The first quarter had the largest impact on the outcome of the game as the D-Fenders (13-19) were outscored 28-15 after being tied at six points and fell behind by the score of 34-21. After that, the D-Fenders, who scored a combined 82 points in the final three quarters compared to the Jam's 81 points, pulled within nine points in both the second and third frames, but never got any closer than that.

The D-Fenders' Morris Almond dropped in a team-high 16 points, Gary Flowers tallied 15 points, five rebounds and five blocks, Orien Greene pitched in 15 points and Lazar Hayward added a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double in the loss. Ronald Dupree also had 10 points and eight rebounds for the D-Fenders, who close out their road trip with a 1-2 record.

Bakersfield (23-9) was guided by Stephen Dennis (21 points [7-12 FG]), Damion James (21 points, 8 rebounds, and James Nunnally (18 points, 9 rebounds). Additionally, Brian Butch pitched in 15 points to go along with 12 rebounds while Jerel McNeal totaled 15 points in the Jam's fifth win over the D-Fenders this season.

The D-Fenders next play on Monday, Feb. 25 against the Idaho Stampede (NBA Affiliate: Portland Trailblazers) at Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 pm.
