Energy Clinch Eastern Conference Title With 110-102 win over Sioux Falls

Des Moines, IA, Mar. 19, 2010 – Forward Cartier Martin nailed all six of his 3-point attempts on his way to 26 points as the Iowa Energy cruised to a 110-102 win Friday night in Des Moines. The win secures the D-League Eastern Conference title for Energy, as they improve to 34-11 on the season.

Iowa jumped out to a 70-36 lead at halftime as Martin scored 21 points and point guard Curtis Stinson handed out 14 assists before the break. The Energy extended their lead to 98-63 after the third quarter and coasted to the eight point victory.

The Energy shot 10 of 16 from 3-point land in the game and outrebounded the Skyforce 49-40 in the game.

Stinson scored 11 points and finished with 18 assists while Phoenix Suns assignee Earl Clark added 19 points and 10 rebounds in his second game with the Energy.

Sioux Falls was led by Leemire Goldwire’s 31 points while Justin Bowen added 19 points and 9 rebounds off the bench. The loss drops Sioux Falls to 27-17 on the year.
