BayHawks Win Big To Close Regular SeasonErie 123, Fort Wayne 89 ERIE — The Erie BayHawks (27-23) mounted a furious third quarter offensive attack to defeat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 123 – 89 before a record crowd of 5252 at the Tullio Arena. The BayHawks utilized balanced scoring with five players in double figures including: Ivan Harris with a game high 26 points, Erik Daniels marked his league leading 29th double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Maureece Rice continued his hot hand with his own double-double of 20 points and 13 assists earning adidas player of the game honors. Coleman Collins had his second straight strong performance leading all Mad Ants scorers with 21 points in the loss. Taj McCullough and Walker Russell Jr. each added 16 points for Fort Wayne. The BayHawks locked up a playoff slot with the win over Fort Wayne Friday night and will now await a league conference call set for Sunday to determine who they will take in the first round. The NBA Development League’s unique playoff format allows top-seeded division winners to choose their opponent in the first round.
