BayHawks 122, Skyforce 113
ERIE, Pa. (March 6, 2009) — A strong finish in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference for the Erie BayHawks (21-17) as they beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce (20-18) 122-113, before a crowd of 3,580 at the Tullio Arena.
The game remained close throughout the first three quarters with the lead see-sawing back and forth between the two teams. The BayHawks offense kicked in in the final quarter as they outscored the Skyforce 42-32 in the final stanza.
Tony Bethel had his strongest game in a BayHawks uniform, knocking down a game-high 32 points including a couple of crucial jumpers late in the game. Both Maureece Rice (24 points, 12 rebounds) and Erik Daniels (20 points, 11 rebounds) had double-doubles in the win.
Frank Williams and Kasib Powell led the scoring for the Skyforce, marking 23 and 22 points respectively. The Skyforce had 6 players finish in double figures.
The BayHawks home stand continues Sunday night with a 7:00 PM tipoff against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The game will feature $1 hot dogs courtesy of Smith provisions. Tickets are available at the Tullio Arena box office.
