Sioux Falls 105, Iowa 91
DES MOINES, Iowa, Jan. 31, 2009 -- David Bailey registered 25 points as the Sioux Falls Skyforce snapped the Iowa Energy's five-game winning streak with a 105-91 victory on Saturday night.
The Skyforce, which led the entire game, took complete control in the fourth quarter when it outscored the Central Division-leading Energy, 26-17.
Bailey, who was dealt to Sioux Falls earlier this month from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, shot a blistering 9-of-14 from the field and 4-of-7 from 3-point range. He also recorded five rebounds, five assists and a steal.
Kasib Powell contributed 18 points and Bobby Jones scored 16 for Sioux Falls, which shot nearly 48 percent from the floor while connecting on 9-of-25 from the arc.
Iowa's biggest downfall was its own 3-point shooting as it hit on only 2-of-13 attempts (16 percent).
Othyus Jeffers paced the Energy, who remain three games ahead of the Dakota Wizards atop the division, with 19 points, while Courtney Sims scored 18 and Demetris Nichols had 16.
Sioux Falls will look to build off this impressive victory when it visits Dakota on Thursday. Iowa won't be back in action until next Sunday when it hosts the Idaho Stampede.
