Sioux Falls 101, Erie 86
ERIE, Pa., Jan. 22, 2009 - Bobby Jones scored 21 points as the Sioux Falls Skyforce ended a three-game slide Thursday night with a 101-86 victory over the struggling Erie BayHawks.
Glen McGowan and 2008 D-League MVP Kasib Powell added 18 points each for the Skyforce, which opened a 54-38 halftime lead and never looked back.
Jones scored eight points in the second period, when Sioux Falls outscored Erie, 34-21, to break open the game. David Bailey added seven points and Powell, who was acquired earlier this week, added six.
Michael Joiner scored 10 points and Bailey added nine for the Skyforce, which shot 50 percent (38-of-76) from the field, including 13-of-25 3-pointers. Sioux Falls held a 43-30 rebounding advantage.
Erik Daniels collected 29 points and 11 rebounds and Ivan Harris scored 15 points for Erie, which shot just 40.5 percent (30-of-74), including 5-of-16 from the arc.
Erie has lost four in a row, averaging just 80.8 points during the slide.
The teams meet again Friday in Sioux Falls.
