Unbeaten Stampede Win Championship Rematch With TorosIdaho 105, Austin 94 AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 5 – Jermareo Davidson had 23 points and 10 rebounds Friday night as the unbeaten Idaho Stampede pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 105-94 victory over the Austin Toros. It was the first meeting between the teams since last season's D-League Championship, won by Idaho in three games. The Stampede (3-0) held a one-point lead entering the fourth quarter before Jamaal Tatum and Jason Ellis scored eight points apiece, helping Idaho take control. Ellis had been scoreless until the final period. Tatum scored 19 points and former Los Angeles Laker Coby Karl added 18 for the Stampede, who held a 49-40 advantage in rebounds. Davidson, a former member of the Charlotte Bobcats and the third pick in the D-League draft, and Ellis helped control the boards. Marcus Williams scored 32 points and Malik Hairston added 14 for the Toros (2-3), who managed just 18 points in the decisive fourth quarter. The Stampede held a 48-47 lead after a first half that saw nine ties, nine lead changes and both teams open five-point leads. The teams meet once more this season, on January 3 in Idaho. |
