Sioux Falls 92, Erie 67
SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Dec. 5 -- Bobby Jones is mostly known for his dynamic defense. But, donít be mistaken, the former Minnesota Timberwolves second-round draft selection can also impress with his offense.
The 24-year-old from Compton, California posted 26 points and a season-best 15 rebounds on Friday to guide the Sioux Falls Skyforce (3-1) to a convincing 92-67 triumph over the visiting Erie BayHawks for their third straight victory.
Featuring several highlight plays, Jones shot an efficient 10-of-12 from the floor and buried 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
Frank Williams, meanwhile, did all his damage in the second quarter with 16 points and Gary Forbes, who competed with the Panamanian National Team in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas, recorded 19 points for the game.
Erie, on the other hand, never discovered its rhythm. It led 4-0 early in the first quarter, but never built any momentum off that advantage.
Erik Daniels paced the BayHawks (2-2) with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Ivan Harris and Jackie Manuel each had 10 points.
The expansion BayHawks will have the opportunity to quickly forget Fridayís performance when they visit the Wizards on Saturday. The Skyforce get some rest before getting their own crack at Dakota on Sunday.
