AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 29, 2008 – Malik Hairston scored 33 points and the Austin Toros picked up their first win of the season with Saturday's 105-91 victory over the Tulsa 66ers Saturday night at the Austin Convention Center.
Austin (1-1) was coming off a heartbreaking loss at the buzzer in overtime to the Utah Flash on Friday.
Trailing 50-43 at halftime, the Toros used a big third quarter to grab a 75-64 lead. Hairston scored 13 points in the third quarter, hitting 11-of-11 from the free throw line.
Derrick Dial led Tulsa with 23 points. Jeremy Kelly added 18 points, while Chris Richard and Yemi Ogunoye both had 11 for the 66ers, who dropped to 0-2.
