Colorado 120, Austin 104
AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 22, 2008 -- Josh Davis scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Colorado 14ers coasted to a 120-104 win over the Austin Toros at Bowie High School. Five 14ers scored in double figures and forced 30 turnovers by the Toros.
"We played well to start but didn't respond well to their trap," Toros coach Quin Snyder said. "I wish we would have handled it better but we're still trying to figure out our line up, and we haven't jelled yet."
The 14ers used a third-quarter surge to put the game out of reach. Colorado led by as many as 25 points in the fourth quarter as the Toros finished their preseason 0-2.
"Once we got over the initial shock of playing an actual game, we settled in and played the way we wanted," 14ers coach Bob MacKinnon said. "We enforced our style and won the game."
The Toros were led in scoring by Malik Hairston, who posted 20 points and three rebounds. Marcus Williams had 16 points, Tack Minor 15 and Ezra Williams chipped in with 14.
