Sioux Falls 125, Iowa 116
SIOUX FALLS, S.D., March 21, 2008 --
“Our guys are taking a lot of pride in doing it together,” said Skyforce head coach Nate Tibbetts. “When you have six players in double figures you are going to have a chance to win.”
Sioux Falls and Iowa went back and forth for most of the opening half as the score was deadlocked at 60 at halftime. After trailing by seven points late in the third quarter Sioux Falls outscored Iowa 42-34 in the final stanza to win their second straight contest and remain one game back in the Central Division.
Kasib Powell scored 25 points for the Skyforce before fouling out late in the final quarter while Chris Alexander recorded a double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Alexander made several key free throws down the stretch and finished the night 11-of-12 from the charity stripe.
Chicago Bulls assignee Shannon Brown scored a season-high 38 points including 18 points in the fourth quarter to keep the Energy within striking distance. Adam Haluska posted 22 points and a team-high six rebounds in defeat.
The same two teams will meet again tomorrow night at the Sioux Falls Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
