Fort Wayne 115, Sioux Falls 99
Despite a game high 27 points from Sioux Fallsí Carl Elliot, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants gave the Skyforce their worst loss since December 30th with a 115-99 victory tonight at the Memorial Coliseum.
The Skyforce dominated the offensive boards, pulling down 9 during the first 12 minutes of play, and found their largest lead of the game at 11. The Mad Ants would counter their poor first quarter performance with a strong second, outscoring the Skyforce 33-17. The Mad Ants held their lead the rest of the game and led by as many as 21 points.
Along with Elliotís 27 point performance for the Skyforce, David Bailey added 19 points and 8 rebounds. Center Chris Alexander snatched down 16 rebounds to go along with 3 blocked shots and 9 points.
The Mad Ants spread the offense out evenly and had seven players in double figures. Earl Calloway led the way for the Ants with 18 points, dished out 11 assists, and finished with 5 steals. Also chipping in 18 points was Detroit Pistonsí assignee Cheikh Samb. Eric Smith came off the bench to record his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
These two Central Division rivals will meet again in Fort Wayne this Thursday, March 6 for their eighth matchup of the season. The Skyforce leads the series 4-3.
