Stampede Take Two Straight from Jam

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Dec. 21Brandon Bowman poured in a season-high 35 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Idaho Stampede defeated the Bakersfield Jam for the second time in three days, 102-94.

Idaho finished the first quarter strong after six lead changes and five ties to take a 24-19 lead. Taurean Green, on assignment from the Portland Trailblazers, led the spurt at the end of the quarter with eight points while Roberto Bergensen chipped in seven.

After trailing 49-43 at the break, the Jam started the second half with a 12-2 run to take a 55-51 lead. The Stampede responded with a 10-2 run and stretched the lead to 13 after three periods.

Green and Lance Allred paced Idaho with 24 points apiece, with Green adding 13 assists.

Bowman also recorded 13 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead Bakersfield.

Scooter McFadgon rebounded from an 0-5 night on Wednesday with 26 points and 13 boards.

Andre Barrett dished out 12 assists and Kosta Perovic, on assignment with the Jam from the Golden State Warriors, contributed four blocked shots.

The loss drops the Jam to 2-12 while Idaho raises its record to 7-5.

The Jam travel to Utah to face the Flash on Saturday before heading back home to host the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Saturday, Dec. 29, in a special noon-time start.
