Energy Survive Late Scare to Climb Past Skyforce in OT

Energy 117, Skyforce 114

DES MOINES, Dec. 14 -- The Iowa Energy survived a fourth-quarter scare to beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce 117-114 in overtime.

The Energy, who led for nearly the whole game, let the Skyforce gain ground late. Skyforce guard Elton Nesbitt hit a three-pointer with only seconds left to tie the game and push it into overtime.

The Energy, who shot a torrid 46.2 percent from beyond the arc, took control for good in overtime for the win, pushing Iowa to a Central Division-leading 6-3 record.

Dwayne Mitchell racked up his second double-double of the season for Iowa, with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Guard JamesOn Curry scored a game-high 24 points for the Energy in what is likely his last game in Iowa. The Bulls are reportedly recalling Curry to Chicago next week.

Sioux Falls guard Kasib Powell led the now 1-6 Skyforce with 22 points and eight rebounds.

Nesbitt, Damone Brown and David Bailey each contributed 18 points in the loss.

The Energy travel to Tulsa on Saturday to play the 66ers at 7:30 p.m.
