Vipers Win Third Straight over Tulsa

Hidalgo, Texas, Dec. 9, -- The Rio Grande Valley Vipers added another NBA player to their roster for Sunday’s game versus division rival Tulsa picking up another big time scoring threat to add to an already prolific Vipers offense. Houston Rockets’ assignee Aaron Brooks contributed 24 points in his Vipers debut and veteran guard Gabe Muoneke added a game-high 30 points in the Vipers 106-99 win over the Tulsa 66ers at Dodge Arena. With the victory the Vipers improve their record to a D-League best 6-1.

The Vipers started off hot again as they outscored the 66ers 29-18 after the first quarter. The Vipers received a big push from a new big three as they were without the services of their leading scorer CJ Watson who played only nine minutes because of flu like symptoms. Rockets assignee Steve Novak added 20 points and nine rebounds in the win. Forward Kevin Bookout added 10 rebounds after missing most of the last game with an eye injury he sustained in the first quarter in Tulsa.

Milwaukee assignee Ramon Sessions led five 66ers in double figures with 19 points and added eight rebounds. Dallas assignee Nick Fazekas also added 19 points. Veteran forward Mike Hall contributed a double-double to the Tulsa cause with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Vipers will play their second game of a four game home-stand when they face the Austin Toros Tuesday night at Dodge Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Hidalgo.
