Anaheim 119, Bakersfield 105 Anaheim, Calif., Dec. 9 — The Anaheim Arsenal turned the tables on the Bakersfield Jam with a 119-109 victory in the NBA Development League on Sunday. The victory avenged's Saturday's 119-105 loss at Bakersfield. Having only played in six of the Arsenal’s first nine games, starting forward Ivan Johnson put on a show in the rematch by posting a team-high 27 points to go with five rebounds and four steals. The No. 9 overall selection in the 2007 D-League Draft, forward Kedrick Brown, continued to impress by scoring 23 points and grabbing six rebounds in the win over the Jam. Forward Steven Smith added 21 points and seven rebounds for the Arsenal. “We have been really frustrated up to this point so it was nice to turn it around today. We have been working hard to make it to the next level and hopefully we can take this momentum into our next game,” Johnson said. Arsenal coach Reggie Geary said: “We played great defense in the third quarter. If we can play four quarters of good defense we can be a really strong team. We know that defense wins games.” The Bakersfield offense was headed up by Brandon Bowman, who scored a game-high 28 points to go with five rebounds and three assists. On Saturday, Bowman had a similar performance with 28 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Andre Barrett and James Peters each finished with 15 points in the loss. Center Kosta Perovic scored 14 points and hauled in five rebounds. “We played well in the first half but in the second half we had some trouble putting the ball in the hoop. I think our defense was lacking a bit in the second half. Hopefully we can put it together for our next game against Los Angeles later this week,” Bowman said.
