Jam Hold Off D-Fenders for First Victory

Bakersfield 121, Los Angeles 110

(Bakersfield, Calif. – Dec. 2, 2007) - The Bakersfield Jam opened their 2007 home schedule with an impressive win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders, 121-110 for their first victory of the season. Scooter McFadgon led six Jam players in double figures with 32 points and Andre Barrett made his Jam debut memorable with 20 points and 17 assists. James Peters had 11 points and 13 rebounds while Brandon Bowman and Anthony Wilkins each had 20.

The D-Fenders were led by Wendell White, who scored 23 points with 9 rebounds, and Devin Green who chipped in with 20 as Los Angeles also had six players in double figures. Brian Chase added seven assist s and Coby Karl contributed 11 points in the first half as the Jam led by two at the break, 63-61.

“The long road trip was not good for us. We have to protect out home court.” said Jam Head Coach Jim Harrick. “Barrett provided some needed leadership tonight. Our backcourt is a lot better than it was last week with Barrett and McFadgon. We had a couple of tough road losses, but hopefully we will turn this win into some positive momentum.”

The Jam head back out on the road for games against Fort Wayne and Iowa this week before returning to Rabobank Arena on Saturday against the Anaheim Arsenal.
