Anaheim, Calif., November 30, 2007 — The Bakersfield Jam and Anaheim Arsenal battled for their first win Friday night in Anaheim. Due in large part to the duo of Kedrick Brown and Guillermo Diaz, the Arsenal came away with the team’s first win of the season 103-85.

On a night commemorating the City of Anaheim’s 150th Birthday, the Anaheim Arsenal gave the hometown fans something to cheer about. The Arsenal’s first pick in the 2007 NBA Development League Draft, forward Kedrick Brown, had a season-high 20 points and ripped down 9 rebounds in the win. Anaheim guard Guillermo Diaz put together another great performance with a team-high 24 points and 5 assists.

“We’ve been working really hard and it finally all came together tonight with a win. Now that we’ve gotten over the hump of winning, this game should give us the momentum to go into tomorrow’s game versus Los Angeles with a lot of confidence,” forward Kedrick Brown stated.

A great fourth quarter defensive run by the Arsenal which held the Jam to 18 points, helped lead the Arsenal to the first victory of the season. With the 103-85 win, the Arsenal have reached the 100 point mark for the third time this season.

Arsenal Head Coach Reggie Geary said, “This was a much needed win and it feels good. All the things we have been working on finally came together. We have a tough game tomorrow so we need to keep the same feel, attitude and energy we had tonight.”

Bakersfield Jam guard James Peters had a game-high 25 points to go along with 7 rebounds. The Jam went into the locker room at half time only down one point but the combined 25 point effort in the second half by Kedrick Brown and Guillermo Diaz helped put away the Jam for good.

“We did better as a team but we still need more energy. We were missing our biggest guy so that had an effect on the game tonight. We have to fight for our next game,” Jam forward James Peters said after the loss.
