Strong Fourth Quarter Propels Jam Past Stampede

Bakersfield, CA., April 1 -- The Bakersfield Jam slammed the Idaho Stampede in the 4th quarter of the game in front of 1275 fans. The final score was 98-82.

The bout started out evenly matched through the first half. The Jam gained speed late in the third quarter and wound up outscoring the Stampede 20-15 for the period. The score remained close, however, at Jam 65, Stampede 63. Bakersfield broke loose in the fourth quarter and never looked back. The Jam outscored the Stampede 33-19 in the fourth.

Kevinn Pinkney was hot with 22 points and five assists, while Scooter McFadgon finished with 17 points. Brandon Bowman, Tamar Slay, Gerry McNamara and point guard Mateen Cleaves all scored in the double digits. Cleave led the team in assists with eight.

Lance Allred led Idaho in scoring with 26 points. He was 10-of-14 from the field in 37 minutes of play. Randy Livingston also sparked the Stampede with 12 assists and 13 points.
