BOISE, Idaho March 17 -- Luke Jackson scored a game-high 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out six assists for the Idaho Stampede in a 118-99 win over the Anaheim Arsenal at Qwest Arena in Boise.
Idaho outscored Anaheim by 29 in the second half (65 percent shooting) and by 15 in the final five minutes of the game.
Led by Jackson, Idaho had five players in double figures, with forward Ricky Sanchez adding 26 points for the Stampede, shooting 8-for-11 from the field, including 6 of 9 from three-point range. Guard Randy Livingston added a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists, while guard Ronell Taylor pitched in 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the win. Gaye scored 12 of his total 16 points in the fourth, while snagging a team-high nine rebounds for the game.
Idaho utilized a strong defensive third quarter to chip away at the Arsenal lead, holding Anaheim to 7-for-21 shooting from the field in the quarter. Sanchez scored 10 of his total points in the period as Idaho shot a blistering 60% from the field in the quarter, and outscored Anaheim 34-21 in the third to take a three-point lead going into the final 12 minutes of play.
Anaheim had four players in double digit scoring, led by MaJik Dorsey’s 24 points. Smith had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Arsenal, while Jawad Williams added 17 and Andre Owens contributed 13 points each.
Anaheim drops to 19-24 will head back home to face the Fort Worth Flyers on Monday, March 19. Idaho improves to a league-best 28-13 with the victory, and will start a four-game road trip at Albuquerque on Saturday, March 24.
