ROANOKE, Va., Dec. 14 -- Terrence Shannon's fifth consecutive game of 20 points or more wasn't enough to push the Dazzle past the visiting Patriots as Fayetteville downed Roanoke 92-78.
Fayetteville also defeated the Dazzle on Friday night in double overtime.
Fayetteville scored early and often, finishing the first quarter with a 30-21 lead. Roanoke wasn't able to overcome the deficit, despite shooting 47.6 percent from the field.
"To go into double overtime last night and then to come home and lose tonight is pretty disappointing," said Roanoke's Terrence Shannon. "We've got to pick it up. We've got to not make as many turnovers. We need to get more focused as a team and come together."
Shannon led Roanoke scoring with 20 points. Richie Dalmau had another good game against his former team, scoring 13. Sah-u-Ra Brown finished with 11 and George Williams added 10 off the bench.
Fayetteville also managed to get four players in double figures. Terrell McIntyre led Patriots' scoring with 19 points. Devin Brown had 16, Jason Capel finished with 13 and Bryan Lucas had 11 off the Bench
"We're playing good basketball right now," said Fayetteville's Devin Brown. "The three games we lost in a row at home were kind of disappointing. It got us in the frame of mind that we can win some games if we just stay together and everything's clicking."
