Johnson Leads Revelers Past Lowgators

North Charleston, S.C., Dec. 26 -- Former College of Charleston standout Anthony Johnson scored 19 points and added five steals to lead the second place Revelers to an 88-79 victory over North Charleston in a game televised live on ESPN2.

The loss dropped the league leading Lowgators to 14-6, 6-4 at home. Mobile improved to 12-7.

"It's dangerous when you run out to a 20-22 point lead early because guys relax a little bit and the opposite team always uses that as a time to just play aggressively," said Mobile Coach Sam Vincent. "I told our guys that by no means was this game over."

"We know North Charleston is a great team, they've got great players," said Vincent. "We expected them to make a surge and try to come back."

North Charleston made a run late in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to four points with 1:17 left with a three-point field goal from Sedric Webber. It was Anthony Johnson who came up big with two steals to quell the rally.

"Guys just came out here lackadaisical today and the other team came out here fired up," said North Charleston's Galen Young. "We can't win games like that."

"We worked really hard to get a 20-point lead and then in the second half we got kind of nonchalant and did not take care of the ball," said Mobile's Anthony Johnson. "Coach (Vincent) got our veteran guys back in the game and we were able to pull it out and get a win."

Isaac Fountaine scored 18 points, hitting 2-of-3 from three-point range. Derek Hood had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds and Jamario Moon scored 11 points, hitting 3-of-5 treys.

Galen Young and Fred House each had 14 points, Sedric Webber had 13 points and Chris Robinson had 12. B.J. McKie had a game-high nine assists.

Prior to the game, Essential Recording artist True Vibe performed, signed autographs and sang the National Anthem.

The Lowgators are back home again to face the Huntsville Flight, Friday at 2 p.m. (ET) in the second back-to-back game televised on ESPN2.
