Revelers Hand Lowgators First Home Loss

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., Dec. 13 -- Isaac Fountaine scored 21 points and the Mobile Revelers shot 52 percent from the floor to hand the North Charleston Lowgators their first home loss of the season, 94-75 Thursday night.

The loss dropped the league-leading Lowgators to 11-3, including 6-1 at home. Mobile improved to 7-5. Both teams play again Friday, with North Charleston traveling to Greenville and Mobile visiting Roanoke.

The Lowgators led 19-18 after the first quarter, but from there on out it was all Mobile. The Revelers led 43-32 at the half, took control of the game in the third period and cruised to the victory.

The Revelers played stifling defense, holding North Charleston to 38-percent shooting from the floor for the game. The Revelers also helped their cause by connecting on 7 of 11 three-point attempts.

"Our guys really came out and met the challenge of playing the top team in our league," Mobile head coach Sam Vincent said. "Our strength was our defense. We contested every shot and offensively we really worked well. We really had solid execution."

Rashad Phillips came off the bench to score 18 for Mobile, connecting on 4 of 5 from behind the three-point line. Anthony Johnson chipped in 12. Derek Hood and Dwayne Schintzius had eight rebounds each for the Revelers.

"For whatever reason, we didn't have any energy," North Charleston head coach Alex English said. "Their guards really hurt us. We couldn't stop them and we didn't seem to have an answer for any of them."

Chris Robinson had 20 points and dished out a team-high five assists to pace North Charleston. Fred House followed with 15 points and Sedric Webber chipped in 11. Makhtar N'Diaye contributed nine points, eight rebounds and blocked five shots for the Lowgators.
