Patriots Lose Game and Top Draft Pick


After leading at halftime 37-30, the Patriots fell again for the third time as they lost to the Greenville Groove 88-67.

Terrell McIntyre had his best game of the young season for the Patriots with 24 points. He hit 10 of 16 field goals and made five steals. Greg Stempin contributed with 14 points and Brian Wardle came up with nine. Ron Kelley had eight rebounds.

The Patriots were outscored in the second half by 28 points. Greenville outrebounded the Patriots 43-26 and shot 53 percent to the Patriots 35 percent.

Notes: Chris Andersen, the No. 1 draft pick of the Fayetteville Patriots, was signed by the Denver Nuggets Tuesday. Andersen is the first NBDL player to be called up to the NBA.
