Mitchell WIns 2013 Boost Mobile Slam Dunk Contest
Mad Ants forward, Tony Mitchell, was crowned the winner of the 2013 Boost Mobile NBA Development League Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday, February 16th during halftime of the NBA D-League All-Star game. The two-round dunk contest allowed for each of the four competitors to complete two dunks in Round One for which they were awarded between six and 10 points from each judge for every made dunk. The two players with the highest composite scores after Round One moved on to Round Two, where the scoring system remained the same. Mitchell, along with Idaho's Josh Owens, advanced to Round Two where Mitchell's combined score of 95 on his two dunks bested Owens' score. Mitchell's final dunk earned a perfect score of 50 from judges Darryl Dawkins, Michael Ray Richardson, DeJuan Blair, Shannon Brown, and an NBA fan.
